Strategic Plan 2020

Strategic Plan 2020

Loyola University New Orleans is embarking on a three-year strategic plan to more fully embody our Jesuit identity and the creativity of New Orleans. We are at a pivotal time for higher education—a time that requires innovation to meet the changing needs of this generation of students.

Our singular goal is cura apostolica, care for the institution. Our Strategic Plan will help us return to a place of financial health and stability and allow us to grow our resources to invest in our mission, our people, and our students. With clear and achievable strategies, Loyola will thrive for another century of transforming lives. Read more

Building on Our Strengths

Our strategic vision is rooted in our Jesuit identity and connection to New Orleans.

Where Courage Meets Creativity

We’ve identified four core strategies that will help us translate our mission as a Jesuit institution into the language of this generation of students.

Our Mission

Strategy One

We will pursue relevant and market-driven academic programs.

Strategy Two

We will embrace innovation to enhance our educational experience.

Strategy Three

We will take our place as the most creative Jesuit institution.

Strategy Four

We will foster stewardship of our university resources.

Key Objectives

As a result of our 2020 Strategic Plan, we aim to achieve these specific, measurable outcomes.

A Collaborative Approach

Hundreds of members of the Loyola community came together, in meetings both formal and informal, to identify Loyola’s strengths and find ways to build upon them. We worked with the university’s standing Strategic Planning Committee and with a creative group of faculty from each college. This was a Jesuit process of discernment, discovering truth through considered conversation and consensus.

Our plan also builds on the work we’ve already done as a university to reflect on our identity and goals for growth. We will expand on the key strengths and areas of opportunity identified in our Strategic Plan for Inclusive Excellence and Mission Priority Examen.

Strategic Plan for Inclusive Excellence

A three-year plan to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion as a core strategic priority for the university.

Mission Priority Examen

A process of institutional reflection resulting in a renewed commitment to our Catholic, Jesuit identity.

2020 Strategic Plan

Loyola is where Jesuit social justice meets New Orleans creativity.
